Simbithi Eco-Estate, Phase 1,
the infrastructural development of which was wholly managed by Arbuthnot Projects, was completed in 2005, incorporating a full security enclosure and installation, dams, community centers, roads with all services, as well as a R 10.5 million sewer pumpstation and rising main to cater for Simbithi and the greater Ballito area. The First phase was approx R 170 000 000.00, with the 2nd Phase completed in December 2006. The 2nd,3rd and 4th Phases, totaling approx, R 228 000 000.00 commenced on the 1st May 2005, with Phases 3 and 4 and were delivered to the client, early in 2007. The 2nd and 4th Phases, comprise residential erven on an 18 hole, Peter Matkovich designed Executive Golf Course with dams, maintenance facilities and again full security installation. Simbithi will ultimately comprise 2002 residential units, both in sectional title developments as well as single residential erven. Blythedale Coastal Resort Blythedale Coastal Resort, a secure residential estate, comprising an Ernie Els 18 hole Golf Course, 4 400 residential erven, hotel sites, and theme parks, located on the Kwa-Zulu Natal, North Coast, commenced on the 1st August 2011, as the next on the schedule of Infrastructural Projects for Arbuthnot Projects. A small phase has commenced, and the project is on stand-by for the economic upturn, before major resources are committed. The estimated R 230m infra-structural rollout of the proposed Mayibuye Game Reserve and Gated Estate, at Cato Ridge, is in its infancy, with an application for an ROD sought and the Town Planning Rezoning application imminent. Building Projects Building projects, are a speciality of Arbuthnot Projects, (Antony was the Managing Director of Group 5 TransAfrica, a multi-million Rand turnover subsidiary of Group Five). Arbuthnot Projects have completed major building projects, including the award winning* La Palma Terraces, for Belgium Property Investments, a 144 unit, R 140 000 000.00, upmarket complex in Umhlanga Ridge, built by Liviero & Son. Ilanga, a 24 unit luxury apartment complex, for R 42 000 000.00 for Solid Attack, a consortium of Sharks rugby players, within Simbithi Eco-Estate, was built by WBHO, and was completed in 2007. Recent building projects completed, included the R 40m new award winning* *offices and warehouses for the Gottleib Group, in Riverhorse Valley, (SteffStocks), and the recently completed first Phase of R 100m, of the Rob Roy Lifestyle Village, Botha’s Hill (Reed Simpson Construction) for the Alliance Group and Beare Holdings, (the second phase of which is due to commence shortly), as well as the Stables and Community Centers (WBHO) at Simbthi Eco-Estate for the developers. Other completed building projects include the R 200 m, Centenary Office Block at the Umhlanga Rocks New Town Center,(Liviero & Sons) , as well as the new R 30m, Country Club for Simbithi Eco-Estate, in Simbithi Eco-Estate, Ballito, (WBHO), and the R 70m, Kauai @ Zimbali (Construction Dynamics) residential apartments and houses, for the Isolenu Group. The second warehouse and office block for the Gottleib Group was recently completed in record time (Grid Construction), as was the R220m new 200 bed Hillcrest Private Hospital (J.T.Ross), for Kassier Road Hospital (Pty) Ltd, on time, and below budget, which opened for business in July 2011. The second of a series of Bank Vaults, for the IBV Group has just been completed in Sandton, Johannesburg. The new extension to the Rob Roy Lifestyle Village has recently commenced, and in the pipeline, are the new KwaMnyandu Shopping Centre, and Berea Station Mall for the Isolenu Group, and Additions & Alterations to the Avonmore SuperSpar for Avonmore Properties. New planning of hospitals include the proposed 160 bed Gateway Private Hospital for the Romed group, and the 116 bed Stanger Private Hospital for the Stanger Independent Practitioners Association. *Winner of the Master Builders Association Building Excellence Award for Residential
